Q: How long have you worked for the Academy of Beauty Professionals?
A: 8 Months.
Q: Where did you get your beauty education?
A: Capri College – Dubuque, IA
Q: How did you become interested in beauty?
A: My grandmother and aunt were in the hair industry. I grew up in my grandma’s salon. Watching her shampoo set the cute little ladies was my favorite, and her salon always smelled of perm.
Q: What is the best part of your job as an ABP educator?
A: I love watching the students grow, the confidence increases and the clientele builds and when the student graduates you know the success they will bring to the industry.
Q: What is your favorite service to perform and why?
A: My favorite service would have to be men’s haircutting. The detailing and precision that goes into the service is truly an art. Bald fades have stood the test of time. Once you have achieved a great men’s cut, you have a lifelong client!
Q: What is your favorite movie?
A: Coach Carter – I love sports movies! (Samuel L. Jackson is the man!)
Q: If you could have dinner with anyone in the world, dead or alive, who would it be and why?
A: My grandma, she was an amazing, hilarious person and is the reason why I’m in this industry. I never got to say goodbye and I miss her every day.
Q: Tell us something else we wouldn’t know about you.
A: I love skiing! I raced all throughout high school. I’m a Gemini 😉 – I enjoy reading horoscopes. I have 150 cousins on my dad’s side of the family. Oh, and I drink WAY too much Starbucks!
