What does an esthetician do?
Estheticians are state licensed health and wellness professionals. For those who are licensed estheticians, careers are available in salons, spas, resorts, and more.
Estheticians are trained skin care specialists, trained to assess and enhance the skin through various treatments and services. In the time of training, esthetics students will learn about the skin structure, growth, nutrition, skin analysis, facials, and more!

What kind of services are offered by estheticians?
Services offered truly depend on the type of environment that an esthetician works in. Most of the time, services offered in a salon vary depending on the type of certifications held by the esthetician. Examples of traditional treatments an esthetician may offer include:
- Hair Removal
- Makeup Applications
- Facial Peels
- Body Wraps
- Facials
- Eyelash Applications
However, estheticians are not limited by these traditional practices. As previously mentioned, a licensed esthetician can obtain certifications in different areas as well. For example, an esthetician can receive and eyelash extension training through a certified professional, and in turn can offer eyelash extension services to their clients.
Estheticians have the opportunity to broaden their services offered through certifications. They also have the power to truly specialize in an area of esthetics that they are passionate about, whether that is skincare treatments or makeup techniques and applications.
